You know how sometimes the bad news seems to pile up on itself, trying to topple over on you and bury you in misery? Yeah, I’ve had those days–those weeks, whatever. But right now, I’m having the exact opposite of this. My good news runneth over!

Remember back in April of last year (let the end of this post remind you, if you must) when I let slip that a story had been accepted? Well, that story, titled “Marika’s War,” is coming to light. The urban fantasy anthology by Elektrik Milk Bath Press, now titled “Twisted Boulevard: Tales of Urban Fantasy,” is on its way to press right now. Here’s a peek at the cover. The release date is March 8th. At that time, there will be a giveaway over on Goodreads, and some promotional blogging about the backstories of the printed stories going on over at Gregory L. Norris’s blog, as well. Don’t worry, I’ll post reminders. Woo-hoo!!
Also, I just heard that my story “Something Wicked” will be in the May edition of Liquid Imagination, an online journal of speculative fiction. I am so very excited! This is my first “new” acceptance in…um…too long. I’ve been getting lots of “almost but not quite’s,” and while it’s wonderful getting personal rejections, getting an acceptance sure means a whole lot more! I’ll post a reminder when my story is out. 🙂
Combine this with my recent publication inside the Winter 2013/14 Tales of the Talisman, and wow–it suddenly seems like I’m appearing all over the place! In reality, two have been in process for some time, and it’s just sheer luck that they all came together this way. Regardless, it feels pretty good to be “basking” in publication success. Yay!
Yay Mary! Cheers to You!
Thanks, Sonya! Hang in there; you’ll get good news, too.
