Magic of the Everyday, Personal Life

A Little Heifer Magic…

Alright, I’ve admitted on this blog numerous times that I’m often a little slow on the uptake. Here’s yet another example.

For a number of years, I’ve donated to Heifer International. I like their philosophy of not just giving to the poor, but also requiring the recipients to pass on the goodwill by donating the offspring of their gifted animals to others in need. This is good, and fine, right? Well, this year–just now, in fact–I discover that Pat Rothfuss for several years has organized SFF geeks into a force of giving for Heifer International. And there are prizes! Well! Someone’s going to enter me into a lottery full of yummy-good free books for my annual donation? Sign me up!

If you want to sign up too, the fundraiser officially ends February 1st, so there’s still time to see the stretch goal at $300,000–two of my VP instructors giving an inebriated review of The Hobbit 2 movie–come to fruition. Hop on over to the site, click, and feel the magic.
