OK, this is pretty awesome. I get to give away 2 copies of Sidekicks! to readers of my blog. (Can you believe this?? I can’t!)
Here’s how to be included in the giveaway: leave a comment on this post by midnight (EDST), Saturday the 23rd of March. If you want an extra chance, in your comment give a great idea for a supervillain’s sidekick’s name, with whatever explanation is necessary. (Give the pair of names if it helps explain why the name is so awesome.) On Sunday, I’ll draw one name at random. Then I’ll choose one sidekick’s name as my favorite suggestion. I’ll contact both of those people for their mailing addresses and ship the books to them. I’ll even autograph the first page of my story if you’d like!
Unfortunately, because I’m picking up shipping, this contest is open only to folks in the USA. (And just so you know, I’m not writing a story using your sidekick’s name. It’s only a means of choosing a second person to receive a copy of the book.)
The comments are open!

In the secret underground office lair of the Mad Accountant toils an unknown sidekick, known only to a few–the Mad Accountant’s Number 2–the Sharpener. The Mad Accountant makes all the news with his nefarious plots to skim profits and cook books, but it’s the Sharpener who keeps the supervillain’s plans of world domination rolling along smoothly. While the Mad Accountant gleefully lines up columns of bogus numbers in his books, the Sharpener is responsible for keeping his pencils sharp and providing pointed feedback on his various schemes. Without the aid of his loyal and hardworking sidekick, the Mad Accountant’s global embezzlement empire would grind to a halt within days. Stay true, master of the graphite! All hail, the Sharpener!
Wow, I really should edit before posting. That was a *very* rough draft 🙂
I wouldn’t worry too much; I’m not an editor and that wasn’t a submission. And sometimes, typos ( or auto-correct) happen.
It’s for my own benefit, so I don’t cringe when I reread it later. 🙂
an unknown sidekick, known only to a few… sheesh.
[laughing]. I understand your pain 🙂
Mary, you are an AWESOME author! U go girl and mind the trains in NYC.
“Hey Itch, there he is go make him itch and I will scratch him!” Scratch speaking to his trusty sidekick Itch.
